Ministry of the Month

Your Outreach Committee identifies a Ministry to focus on each month. They provide information through the web, newsletter and bulletins about how you can participate. Please place your contribution (make your check out to Anoka UMC)  in an envelope found in the pews, or your offering envelope and mark it for:   Annual Love Offering

The Annual Love Offering For Missions
Each year, Minnesota Annual Conference churches take a Love Offering for missions. The offering benefits international, national, and local mission projects, and helps fund Volunteer in Mission scholarships. Donations in past years have been a tremendous help for the recipients who are different each year. This year the donations will be used as follows.

International Projects:
Women & Community Association in Nicaragua (25%)
This is an ecumenical ministry that serves approximately 12,000 people in a large, impoverished, rural county in Nicaragua. United Methodist missionaries Nan McCurdy and Miguel Mairena serve at this mission site.
Funds will be used to support youth scholarships, Youth Network Against Violence, and women’s economic development (business training and small loans).
National Projects:
Red Bird Missionary Conference (20%)
Help pay the conference’s pastors in impoverished areas in Appalachia.
Emma Norton Services (20%)
Emma Norton Services is the only United Methodist National Mission Institution in Minnesota. At Emma Norton Services, women receive help they need to maintain sobriety, manage their mental health, finish their education, enroll in job training programs or college, get jobs, and build a healthy social support network.
Minnesota Projects:
Native American Ministries (25%) This will support programs in the Cass Lake and St. Paul areas
